AMAR ALOHI-Rural Homestay initiative launched by the Tourism Department, Government of Assam, is a transformative program to enhance the homestay facilities across the state and foster self-employment opportunities among educated youth in rural and semi-rural areas rich in tourism potential. This initiative aims to bring a vibrant boost to Assam's rural tourism sector.

Divided into progressive phases, Phase I and II focused on individual homestay units while Phase III is a community-based approach, encouraging group or clusters of at least 10 homestays to form a Community Tourism Organisation near key tourist destinations. This initiative amplifies local hospitality and strengthen tourism ecosystem, creating a unified and enriched travel experience for visitors while empowering local communities.
